Testimony of Michele Vorhis Allen

In 1982, when I was 17, I was shown in the Bible in John 3:3-5 that Jesus said we must be born again in order to enter the kingdom of God. It says we must be born of the water, and of the Spirit. At that time I did not know about any of that nor did I know that Jesus was going to be coming back. I had assumed that just because Jesus died for us we were all saved and automatically going to make heaven.

Well, because Adam and Eve sinned, God expelled them from the garden. But before God even expelled or cursed them He promised a Savior to come to redeem us back to Him. That Saviour is Jesus Christ. The only way His blood can be applied to our hearts and lives is if we obey Acts 2:38 which says to: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost/Spirit. This is how we are born again so it fulfills John 3:3-8 when we are obedient to it. To baptize means to immerse fully under water. So by having that done, with the name of Jesus being spoken over us, is the only way to wash away our sins. It says in the Bible after that happens we will receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues just like the disciples did on the day of Pentecost. You can read that in the book of Acts chapters 2:1-4, Acts 2:39, Acts 5:31, Acts 8:12-18, Acts 8:36-38 Acts 10:44-48 and Acts 19:2-6.

The Bible says in Romans 6 that we take on Christ when we are buried with Him in baptism and in Romans 8 it says if we don’t have His Spirit we are none of His and don’t belong to Him. In a few different places in the Bible and one being in I Thessalonians 4, it says how Jesus is going to come back and take the born again believers out of the earth. In Revelation, which is the last book of the Bible, tells everything that is happening today and will happen in the future. It prophesies and forewarns us that we do not want be here during what is about to take place on this earth—Tribulation and Armageddon. It also prophesies the political corruption, the diseases, pandemics and pestilences, etc.

Anyway, in 1985 at 19 years old, I walked into a church that taught this truth. I repented and cried rivers of tears. Then when I was baptized in Jesus name, I came up out of the water and I could barely breathe because I felt so clean inside. Then God filled me with His Spirit and I spoke in tongues for a long time. It was the most powerful, amazing and glorious experience I ever had in my entire life! It was the best decision I ever made…and that was 38 years ago!
