“It has been estimated that roughly 363,000 people use hard drugs like cocaine and heroin, and another 1,009,000 abuse alcohol in Florida every year. In addition, over 20% of all admissions into state-funded treatment programs in 2015 were because of opiates, which is more than twice as high as the national average. As a consequence, 12% of all deaths in Florida in the last 10 years were due to drugs and alcohol, and there were over 35,000 DUI arrests in 2016 alone.

This guide was written to help the many Floridians who are struggling with addiction find affordable treatment that will put them on the path to recovery, and inform the general public about the dangers of substance abuse in the state.

If you need help finding a treatment center, you can use our directory to find low-cost, quality treatment right away. Read on to find instructions for using it, and to learn which rehabs qualify as the highest rated, low-cost facilities in the state.”

“Alcohol.org is dedicated to informing the public about the use and abuse of alcohol. You will find the latest alcohol research, studies and statistical data, brought to you by government agencies, academic institutions, news sources and awareness organizations. We provide well-researched, fact-based resources on this site.”

“Mesothelioma is a serious cancer with only one known cause—asbestos exposure. With only 3,000 new cases each year in the United States, mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive cancer with most patients having a short lifespan. But over the past decade, massive advancements in treatment technology have allowed mesothelioma patients to survive years longer than their original prognosis.”

“Addiction Resource was founded in 2014 to provide a community for those recovering from addiction and to help patients find the highest quality care for a successful recovery. Our goal is to provide resources to help patients and their loved ones so that they may stay on the road to recovery, and can successfully overcome addiction for life. “Addiction and suicide have a very complicated relationship, where addiction greatly increases the risk of suicide and suicidal thoughts and tendencies greatly increase the risk of addiction.”

“Alcohol Rehab Guide (ARG) is an organization that provides comprehensive, reliable information on the various aspects of alcohol abuse and addiction. We offer support and guidance for those who are struggling, as well as their parents, family members, friends, health workers and community members.”

“Addiction Guide is your reliable source on addiction and the dangers of illicit substances. We cover how drugs and alcohol affect the body, how to identify the signs and symptoms of abuse, and where to seek effective treatment. Our mission is to guide you and your loved ones to a healthier life.”

“Unfortunately, the terrible consequences of an untreated drug or alcohol addiction don’t affect the addict alone. In many cases, the addict’s family suffers just as much, if not more. If your family member is struggling with a substance abuse issue, you may feel like there’s no hope of ever getting back the person you care about so deeply. Luckily, that is not the case. The right rehab can help your loved one transform into a person who loves themselves and leads a life of passion and purpose.”

REHABSPOT

“Our goal at Drug Dangers is to keep the public educated and informed of all defective medical devices and dangerous medications that are currently on the market. As an online resource sponsored by Seeger Weiss LLP, Drug Dangers strives to provide accurate, relevant medical information all in one place. Under the unfortunate circumstance that you or a loved one has been injured by faulty medications or devices, the attorneys of Seeger Weiss are committed to helping you receive the justice you deserve.”

“Senior citizens have unique needs when it comes to addiction treatment. Having grown up in a different generation from many others struggling with substance abuse, the elderly may view addiction differently. It is important that a drug rehab program covers issues that are relevant to the older generation, and this may be done most effectively through age-specific treatment.”

Why You Should Consider Alternatives to Opioids

While there are a time and place for opioids, other pain management techniques are available to help reduce pain without the fear of overdose or addiction. Some of the reasons to consider treating pain without opioids include:

It reduces the risk of overdose

Opioids do not address the source of the pain

Opioids do not increase function

Opioids may increase pain and pain sensitivity over time (doctors call this condition enhanced pain sensitivity)

Opioids don't relieve neuropathic (nerve) pain
